Inspiring those you manage is a rewarding, insanely difficult challenge.  However it is dwarfed by the ability to inspire not just downwards, but to inspire all around you both peers and your line managers.  This is the ability that Amy has in abundance.  It is borne by an effortless ability to understand situations in the workplace in an instant, forming solutions across a wide breadth of issues, drawing on years of experience and an innate knowledge of hospitality.  Allied to a fierce passion for the industry, and a desire to improve it and the lot of those working in it, this allows Amy to masterfully assess any challenge a hospitality business may face and synthesise the correct solution.  Not only that, but then have the skill and emotional intelligence to tailor that message to all strata of the organisation, from the very top to those of most importance at the coalface.

When working with her, Amy inspired me at all times to challenge myself, look for better ways of approaching working within hospitality, and to continue to improve as she did.  To this day, I hold her up as a paragon to all my aspiring managers and those with burgeoning careers in hospitality of the right approach to this industry through marrying the intellectual study of the business with sheer passion for it.
